Say Hello And Wave Goodbye - 2017

Oh man am I sad to see 2017 go. In January we were just sharing our exciting baby-expecting news, and now we have a 5-month-old who we ADORE, a new house and overall a very much shifted outlook on life.

I imagine 2018 will also be great. We have weddings of dear friends to attend, home projects we’re excited to tackle, babe milestones to witness and 365 days of who knows what else. Here’s what we were up to this year:

JANUARY
Baby is coming! We slowly shared the news with family and friends. I had coworkers in town from across the globe and we met the cutest little dog of all time.

FEBRUARY
Baby is still coming! We told coworkers this month and went to a MSU basketball game with friends.

MARCH
We ran a 5K, traveled home and found out that baby that’s coming is a boy!

APRIL
Bub’s room is coming along. We went to a MSU spring football game, took a bunch of baby classes, researched all the STUFF we needed and visited daycares.

MAY
We went up north--twice. Then we celebrated our second wedding anniversary.

JUNE
Bub was showered not once but twice. Ben went to a “bachelor” party with his friends and we counted down the days until Bub’s arrival.

JULY
Ta da! Here’s baby! (As if it were that easy!) Before July 18 I was a mostly couch (or walk) bound very round pregnant lady. Post July 18 we in a little cocoon learning about our newest family member, learning about each other and learning about this new chapter of life.

AUGUST
If I’m being honest August - October is blurry. Many days/nights felt the same, and many days/nights felt like a sudden surprise as was Cameron developing fast!

SEPTEMBER
Family visited, we ventured out to ArtPrize, we celebrated two months of Cameron.

OCTOBER
What didn’t we do in October? I went back to work, Cameron went to daycare, we moved into a new house, we had more visitors, we ArtPrized again, we celebrated Cameron’s first holiday. We said goodbye to Uncle Hy and took a second to appreciate each other.

NOVEMBER
We settled into our new home. I battled several weeks of several back to back sicknesses. We brought our little boy across the state for the first time for Thanksgiving and loved watching family and friends love on him.

DECEMBER
Cameron’s list of “party tricks” is growing--he’s more vocal, he’s starting solid foods, he’s more fun and interactive. We traveled home twice for the holidays and for Uncle E's graduation. At night we scurried around the house to paint and do projects while our babe was in bed.

2017 for us can largely be broken into before Cam and after Cam. We adore him, and our lives have been forever changed by him. We can't wait to see how he grows and how we grow along with him in 2018.
