Buckle Up–Here We Go, Start of Tri Training
Today is the first day of my 8 week training for the GR Sprint Triathlon . I’ve done this tri before , and I’ve done this training before, but this year, I have some new training goals. I 100% find training more enjoyable and rewarding than the race itself. The race is great, but 8 weeks of challenging myself, failing, succeeding and learning from it all–that’s what I love the most. Here’s what I’ll be thinking about for the next 8 weeks: Strengthen + Prevent Injury My training plan has no weight, stretch or yoga workouts built in. I know I need this, and this year I want to be diligent about doing it. Maybe it’s thoughtfully engaging my core during runs, 5-10 minutes of weights after a bike ride, or stretching while watching TV at night. Gain Open Water Experience I train in a pool, but I’d reallllly like to get more comfortable in open water before race day. Not only does open water swimming CREEP. ME.
