This year, I rang in the new year by watching a giant glowing sugary marshmallow candy fall from the sky. If you thought Peeps were just for Easter, you clearly haven't been to my Little City before. Our New Years Eve Peep Show has been listed on several quirky NYE lists . I'd tell you more about it, but I feel it's best showed. Enjoy. :) B and I with Peepman! Recapping the year is totally the blogging thing to do. 1) it involves creating a list of sorts. Lists are internet gold. They bring all the boys to the yard, so to speak. B) it involves the repurposing of old material. 15 minutes of copy and pasting and you can hit publish and head back to the couch to nurse a New Years Day hangover. I’ve been a very quiet blogger the past few months. Not to say I haven’t been living my life ( hey, eh, hey, eh, hey, eh ) but it’s been more routine sprinkled with occasional questioning about how the heck I ever wound up in LittleTown, Pennsylvania and how to make the most of my time here. Last week I was reading one of my favorite bloggers who mentioned it shockingly snowed in Virginia, thus allowing her to wear her cool boots. Said cool boots were polka dotted rain goulashes. The same storm that dumped on her dipped temps in PA to the high 20s, low 30s. The weather menz said this arctic blast was 5-10 degrees colder than the season average. Out my bedroom window townies march the streets layered up like cream puffs in big winter jackets with long scarves and thick hats covering their skin. Meanwhile my dad calls me from Michigan reporting that his dog sled is stuck behind a fat polar bear on his commute home from work. Thank goodness my brother, He-Who-Plays-Many-Facebook-Games is home because he can hike the 9 miles up hill in the blizzard to barter for firewood to keep my family’s igloo glowing tonight. This past weekend I yomdoodled my way down south to visit my favorite fifth grade teacher, Louise. Now that some school district has made the brave, bold and brilliant decision to give her a slew of students, she’s moldin’ minds, kickin’ butts and takin’ names just a skip and a jump outside of D.C. She’s visited me twice in TheHillsAreAlive, Pennsylvania (if I ever need to be reminded of this, I only need to travel back to the mitten to see the solo photo on my parent’s fridge). Cough- she’s the favorite child -cough . It was def my turn to make the journey to her new digs. Louise wasted no time in welcoming me to the area. Her new roommate, C, is a trouble making, quick-witted, off the wall brunette; a far cry from Louise’s past roommates... We quickly wandered downtown via a joyful ride by a cab driver/karaoke king (how many middle aged men know all the words to Black Eyed Peas jams?) and long story ( purposefully ) short, ended up munching on our respected Jumbo Slices and ...

I spent Labor Day 2010 working. I worked it out on the dance floor at a random bar in Boston with Kendal , mimicking our signature moves from college that pain others to watch. Then we worked at maneuvering our roller suitcases and backpacks double the size of our bodies through a vacation weekend sea of people at Times Square. Later I worked at flashing my million dollar (fine, several thousand dollar- thanks for the braces mom & dad!) smile at the owner of the Italian restaurant on my street to score two free glasses of wine at lunch. It was a very stressful work weekend. :) Kendal and I decided to wreak havoc across the east coast by paying Boston a visit. And although Hurricane Earl ended up being more like wimpy Hurricane Girl and foiled our Fenway Park plans, we still had an excellent time. By day we shopped through Quincy Market and walked old uneven brick sidewalks in giggle fits. At night we ate dinner at a cute Irish bar in Back Bay and stirred up more chaos tha...

So it’s been nearly a month since I’ve blogged, and definitely more than a month since I’ve blogged about anything substantial. Do not let this fool you into thinking I have been doing anything substantial, though. Really I’ve just been living my life ( hey eh, hey eh, hey eh ) with a few exciting moments, but more so finding a good pattern of calm regularity. Here’s what I’ve been up to- Planning to win a body building contest. Ok, not really at all, but I did join an intense gym in the area where I kill some time after work. I run and watch the Food Network (until I’m too hungry) & Jersey Shore (until I’m too disgusted) and then lift my little girly weights while manly men make womanly birthing noises as they hoist unsafe amounts of iron over their heads. Going to this gym is both rejuvenating, as it clears my mind and makes me feel better, and frightening, as I consider what my plan of action would be to rescue my bench neighbor’s incline dumbbell press gone wrong.
